Media: Omaha Girls Rock Joins The Bay

Django Greenblatt-Seay February 19, 2026

This project involved sensitive change messaging around the transition of Omaha Girls Rock into The Bay. Omaha Girls Rock (OGR) was a beloved organization with deep community roots, but financial challenges led to a pause in programming and a search for a sustainable path forward. The goal of our communications work was to honor OGR’s legacy while clearly explaining what was changing, what was staying, and how youth and families would be served moving forward.

I led the communications strategy and coordinated execution with key stakeholders. That included close partnership with OGR leadership and staff, The Bay’s executive leadership, and internal teams, with an emphasis on clarity, respect, and trust. The plan centered the OGR community, preserved dignity, and ensured the transition felt like a continuation and expansion of impact rather than an ending.
